Fort Collins String Quartet

Cynthia Drexler plays viola with the Fort Collins String Quartet.

Cynthia received her Bachelor of Music degree from the University of Southern California, where she studied with world-renowned violinist Eudice Shapiro and violist Milton Thomas.  She received fellowships with the Fountainbleau School of Fine Arts, in France, the Banff School of Fine Arts in Canada, and this past summer with the Nebraska Chamber Institute and Orvieto Musica in Italy.

In 1997, she founded the Camelot Strings, a group of outstanding chamber musicians, after co-directing the Royal Strings for seven years.  Camelot Strings soon became the leading performance ensemble in San Diego, performing over 100 weddings, receptions, and other special events each year.

Cynthia is a past member of the San Diego Chamber Orchestra and has performed with the San Diego Symphony Orchestra. Cynthia is a member of the Fort Collins Symphony, and teaches at TR Paul School of Arts and Knowledge in an after-school program. She also maintains a busy schedule teaching violin, viola, and piano, and is a certified Bornoff Method instructor.

She is currently working toward a masters degree in music performance at Colorado State University, and is principle violist of the CSU Symphony.

Cynthia has a great flair for solo performance, and her love of music is reflected in the musical skills her students, at all levels of ability, acquire from her teaching.
